The Lunch Box is a classic American concession restaurant within Veterans Memorial Sports Stadium. The Lunch Box provides classic Americana-style foods to sports fans throughout football, lacrosse, and rugby matches.

For the past 10 years ‘The Lunch Box’ has survived with no brand or brandmarks; however, in line with consumers’ demand for more quality food, the owners at the stadium had decided a new brand was needed to match their new offering.

Focusing on heritage, we were asked to create a brand that felt fun and fresh, but as though it had been around for the last 60 years.

solution:

Using the classic American food offering as inspiration, we have developed a classic Americana brand that leans on the rubber hose style illustration that was popular in the growth of modern American culture.

The bold strong font and burnt orange color palette, alongside a rubber hose character feel like a modern twist on a classic brand.

Design Process

The process of developing a classic brand started by sketching characters by hand. Using many of the techniques from the early to mid-1900s we developed a fun lovable lunch box character that best represents the American food offering and the fun playful brand.

After creating the lovable lunchbox by hand, we then began to build the rest of the brand, along with sub-brands and touch points.
